Queues at the check-in desks, at security control and to get access into your boarding gate can be long so be prepared for delays. This is as increased security measures are undertaken.
These checks are for the safety of all passengers and unavoidable to ensure safe air travel. To help airport staff ensure you keep all your luggage with you and alert Airport staff immediately if you see any suspicious or unattended packages or bags. |

Security control, to gain access into the Departure lounge, means you need to show your boarding card and passport.
Hand luggage is then checked and passengers will also be screened.
Hand luggage needs to be put through an x-ray machine. Other belongings such as jackets, coats, handbags, laptops, cameras, mobile phones, calculators, etc. will also need to pass through the x-ray machine.
Metallic items like keys and coins, and also belt buckles need to pass through the x-ray machine. Passengers walk under an archway metal detector.
Do note any passengers with pacemakers should request a hand search. Wheelchair users will also require a hand search.
Metal detectors are safe for pregnant women however they can request a hand search.
At random some passengers may be selected for hand searches at the security control or towards the Departure Gate. |
